I'm actually in Tian-jin which is about 60 miles south of Beijing. I'm an au pair working with a really nice family with only the mom being able to speak English. I'm helping her become fluent and I'm also helping their 4 year old son learn English. He's sooo cute!!! Although I need to study Chinese more so that I can communicate with him better..... one of the most important Chinese words I've learned is 'nai-nai', which means 'wee-wee'. It's less awkward to know it then to have to gesture it, which is what I have to do for most things. Yea.

Anyways, so I'm going to be in China for about 6 months. I've only been here for a week but I'm really likeing it so far. It's been a bit hard to get used to the food (it's not bad, just a lot different from what I'm used to) but my body is slowly adjusting. Everyone has been very nice and helpful to me, even if they can't speak English. I'm learning a lot everyday.

I don't know how well DA will continue to work in China (theres a few websites that Chinas just like, 'NO', so yea...) but I hope to keep in contact with everyone. Although I'm having a great time and meeting a lot of new people, it's nice to talk to people I know and that can actually speak English. Although my Chinese (manderian) has gotten much better. (as one would hope- I only came to China knowing 'Ni hao'= Hello)
